Gone are the days of the solitary genius; now knowledge-sharing is the order of the day. “Research teams” in laboratories have taken over from individual mad scientists isolated in the bubbles of their own egos and are scooping the prizes which reward new discoveries. The group is always better than the best person in the group. Sharing knowledge, complementary skills, pooling ideas and getting others to confirm hypotheses offer more guarantees than the inspiration or intuition of an individual. Individual talent expresses itself better in a group.
