“Le Fauteuil Rouge has helped us reviving some long forgotten winemaking practices. Just imagine sometimes, that it’s possible to take time to do things, to remember that wine has existed for thousands of years and that it’s part of our culture, take the time to imagine that we were right,” explained Cellar Master Laurent Bourdin.
TERROIR : Born on the right bank hillsides, along the Vienne river, on clayey-calcareous soil, well positioned South.
GRAPE VARIETY : Cabernet Franc 100 %
VITICULTURE :Over 40-year-old vines on average in the village of Panzoult.
VINIFICATION :The harvest’s juice finishes its alcoholic fermentation (without adding sulfur nor yeast) in the cellars of Saint Louans in carefully selected oak, that has been acquired for the fine quality of its wood and grain. A single racking is undertaken at the end of June.

TASTING NOTES : Deep purple color with garnet tints.
Intense aromas of black currant, walnut, mint, toast, grey pepper, violet-flavored licorice.
Concentrated on the palate and well-structured, displaying harmony between the fruit, good acidity and firm tannins, all of which come together on a velvety finish.
FOOD PAIRING : tomato and chorizo pie, t-bone steak, tournedos served with green pepper sauce, roast pheasant, duck breast, tomme de Savoie or cantal vieux cheese.
