Les Combes 2013 Louis Tête - Beaujolais-Villages

This wine is a part of our Haute Couture range. It reveals Gamay’s exceptional character. Assisted by a dozen growers, we have selected parcels from our hillside vineyards, managed according to specific requirements. The grapes are hand-picked when fully ripened, thereby allowing us to increase the crisp and fresh character of our wines made from Gamay. The Decanter World Wine Awards (May 2015) has attributed a gold medal to Les Combes.

  • TERROIR : granit and clay
  • GRAPE VARIETY : Gamay noir à jus blanc 100 %
  • VITICULTURE : Conventional farming methods. Manual harvest.
  • VINIFICATION : Traditional Beaujolais-style procedures are used for a period of 9 days. 2/3 of the grapes are destemmed. Essentially matured for 6 months in stainless steel, along with a couple of casks, before being blended after 9 months.
  • TASTING NOTES : Intense red ruby.
    Cherry jam fragrances. Slightly suave with notes, evoking spices (pepper, nutmeg), wilted rose and violet candy.
    Straightforward and tight on the palate. Firm tannins, lively and fresh finish.
  • FOOD PAIRING : local charcuterie and grilled meat.

Agamy is the number one Lyon region cooperative group, as the product of a merger in 2016 between Les Vignerons Foréziens (Trelins, Loire), Cave des Coteaux du Lyonnais (Sain-Bel, Rhône), as well as Cave de Signé Vignerons (Bully and Quincié in Beaujolais, Rhône).
