Les Hauts des Coteaux 2013 - Châteauneuf-du-Pape rouge

Les Hauts des Coteaux is elaborated from a selection of the best parcels of the vineyard, generally situated on high slopes. Only 5 vintages of this wine have been produced over the past 12 years! The 2010 vintage has obtained a gold medal from the International Wine Challenge in London.

  • TERROIR : hillsides and pebble stones
  • GRAPE VARIETY : Grenache 90 %, Mourvèdre 5 %, Syrah 5 %
  • VITICULTURE : Selected parcels, manual harvest – picked and produced only in great vintages.
  • VINIFICATION : Grape destemming for 90%, 5-6 weeks maceration period with daily delestage and pumping over. Temperature controlled fermentation between 28°C and 30°C. 70% matured in French oak for 12 months including 1/3 new barrels. After blending, the wine spends 12 months in vat before bottling.

  • TASTING NOTES : Garnet color with amber tints.
    Well-ripened, mellow and harmonious aromas. Warm stone mineral notes, red berry jam, licorice and black pepper, Mediterranean herbs.
    Ample and strong palate. Very harmonious and long, boasting elegance.
  • FOOD PAIRING : guinea fowl, saddle of venison with chanterelles, rack of lamb with herbs, picodon or cantal cheese.
