Terra Helvorum 2015 - IGP Ardèche rouge

The vineyard is located in Southern Ardèche, at the foothill of the volcanic Coiron in Alba La Romaine.

  • TERROIR : soils (2/3) and basalt soils from selected parcels.
  • GRAPE VARIETY : Syrah 100 %
  • VITICULTURE : The vines are pruned according to the Cordon de Royat method and carefully tended to throughout the entire growing cycle with yields limited to 25 hl/ha. Manual harvest on the 11th of September 2011.
  • VINIFICATION : Destemming and crushing, traditional vinification with 15 days maceration. Oak maturation during 12 months.
  • PRICE TTC FROM FRANCE : 13,10 € (DISTRIBUTION IN THE UK : only reginnaly on trade)
  • TASTING NOTES : Dark bright purple color.
    Intense aromas, exhaling fruity notes of black currant and black berry, empyreumatic cocoa beans, toasted bread, spices (vanilla, nutmeg and cardamom), last but not least, licorice stick and blond tobacco.
    Melted and ample on the palate, marked by bitter chocolate, and caramel, toasted notes and black pepper.
  • FOOD PAIRING : black pudding, moussaka, grilled red meat, brie de Meaux.
