Terre d’Églantier Viognier 2016 - IGP Ardèche blanc

The vineyard is located in Southern Ardèche, in the villages of Voguë, Valvignères and Montfleury, and along the Cévennes border.

  • TERROIR : Hillsides and terraces on clayey-limestone and granitic sandstone soils.
  • GRAPE VARIETY : Viognier 100 %
  • VITICULTURE : This wine is made from parcel selections with a strict yield control (45 hl/ha). Ploughing and leaf cutting allow Viognier to rippen perfectly. Grapes are picked ripe during the coolest hours of the day, in order to keep their freshness.
  • VINIFICATION : Gentle pressing. Matured 50% on lees and 50% in oak for 12 months.
  • PRICE TTC FROM FRANCE : 9,20 € (DISTRIBUTION IN THE UK : only regionally on trade.
  • TASTING NOTES : Pale golden color, silver tints, bright and luminous.
    Complex and fresh aromas, exhaling notes of honey, acacia flowers and elder, apricot, a hint of Williams pear and milder notes of meringue and fairy floss.
    Vivacious and harmonious on the palate, with plenty of fruit and freshness; the persistent finish is underscored by notes of grey pepper.
  • FOOD PAIRING : koulibiac-style salmon, chicken tajine with almonds, fish in a creamy saffron sauce.
